This post is a day late going up as I have only just calmed down. Forgive me and read on for some happy news. Many of you will know that I have been helping a fellow Twitter pal in the USA. - @FuzzyMice Her story came to light bit by bit, as she survives through internet on her Blackberry (they rock - heck they rock!!) and along with a bunch of others I began to help her.
Fuzzy has been running a small one-woman rescue and, suddenly, after a mix of circumstances I didn't quite follow, ended up with no job, and notice to quit her accommodation. This was a catastrophe as she tends about 14 or so cats and they would have been shipped to the local pound - a death sentence - Fuzzy would end up sleeping in her car...
About a week or so ago, she had a brainwave, if she could find an R.V. (what we would call a motorhome or trailer home) this would allow her to live with the cats, find a place to park up, build a cat run etc., It was a bit of a dream, or a last straw of hope for Michelle. I did my best to help, promoting her chip in, and making a couple of sales with the proceeds heading direct to her chip in account. October 1st came round and we had 7% in the chipin I was in despair, I confess, I saw no way out, the cats would not make it.....
Early today, I logged on to find Twitter fizzing with something like "news". It took me a while to figure it out, then I looked at the FuzzMice ChipIn. My jaw dropped - my eyes were wide as saucers - the ChipIn now stood at $1,200 Word spread like wildfire and we started tweeting to see if we could raise the final $300 to ensure the RV she had found would be hers.
The Result? The chipIn now stands at over $1,500; Michelle has placed a deposit on her motorhome. I confess myself at a loss, this can only be a miracle. A real genuine miracle. I had thought raising $1,500 in less than two weeks to help one solitary person was too big a mountain to climb - I was wrong.
