Yarn Record
I was gifted this wonderful Noro yarn - its sock yarn and quite expensive so I am thrilled, but definitely waiting until I am a more proficient sock knitter before I use it
Look at the colours! Quite Amazing :-)

Ready for Christmas?
I am starting to think about Christmas stock for my shop.
I have an exhibition in September, I am a slow worker and just getting my stuff ready and into my store I have to start making now.
I know that to get my dolls to score as unique gifts on ArtFire, for example, I need to give them the best I have. So, I will be making lots of doll pin and plenty of my copper brooches. Am I alone in thinking its not too early to think Christmas?

Photo Competition for Cats and Dogs
Zena the Warrior Dog has a really neat competition on her blog and I just KNOW that a lot of my readers smaller dogs, and/or cats would love the prizes.
Why don't you pop over and check the blog out, and see the Puppy Ramp modelled. All you need is to submit a photo of your kitty or Pup. The current contestants are all displayed on the right hand side of the blog so you can see how stiff the competition is!
Go for it kitties, go for it puppies! Good Luck.

Tuesday Treasures
My occasional series of items seen and discovered in the online retail world returns with a real treasure by a favourite seller and a cosy coverup - both delights of the yarn magician's art.
This exquisite hand crocheted necklace is made from 100% silk and freshwater pearls. It captures a balance of casual sophistication and refined elegance that no machine made jewelry could possible attain. As a gift for a Mum, a good friend or bridesmaid at a wedding this has few equals.

My second item is a lovely shawl by Jenco13 that will be welcomed in the chillier parts of the world! It's colours are Blue (teal), reds, purples, green and yellow, it just exudes cosiness and warmth. Jen has a sale on soon, so her entire store is worth checking out.

Da Awesome Kitty Fabric!!
I love this, it was in Cushla's but I could not afford to add it to my stash, darn it.
It's just a bit edgy, but so real, I love each cat on the fabric. I took this picture so I can ring them up and send an email saying I want it - maybe at the end of August!

Back from my trip
Off to Auckland to see Mandy Patinkin and Patti Lupone. Wonderful show played to a packed house. We had great weather while we were there, some showers but plenty of sunshine and warmer than Wellington by abour 4 or 5C.
Paul discovered Marbecks the classical CD shop and I finally got to visit Cushla's Village Fabrics on our trip over to Devonport. Cushla's is wall to wall fabric, and kits and doll patterns and batiks and it's just AWESOME
Devonport is such a pretty place with nice shops, lovely cafes and restaurants and a lovely wool shop.
Of course I bought fabric and patterns at Cushla's, and nearly got a second block of the month (BOM) to start but I am determined to get well into my new Bluebird quilt before I do that!
We came home on the Overlander which was amazing. 12 hours and the length of New Zealand almost!
